I was very honored to receive a gift from Japanese woman on Friday for providing what some might call “unsupervised treatment” for her 4 year old daughter who had fallen and knocked out one of her front teeth. I fortunately saw them pacing outside of the school after it had closed late on a Wednesday night.
She gave me these ornamental candies from her home country that you are supposed to enjoy with tea. A lot of Japanese goods are very tiny and intricate. I have to say that I really enjoy the attention to fine details and beauty in their culture. It was also really refreshing to receive thanks for a job well done; many people around here take things for granted. When I have the opportunity to travel in the future, I would really like to spend some time in Japan.
